Today we are taking you back to our roots, or our bread and butter, some might say. We have always loved being able to read and share unique love stories. That’s why we started our blog after all, and today’s navy blue wedding feels extra nostalgic. The gorgeous bride and dashing groom’s love story started in college where they were both on the the crew team, and their friendship blossomed into love. Lesley and Andrew met at Boston University in the fall of 2008. Both were some of the taller members of the Boston University crew teams. Their relationship started as friends and teammates for the first 3 years together at Boston University. After many dinners, game nights and college parties together as members of the friend group nicknamed “The Fambly,” Andrew and Lesley’s relationship continued to grow. In the winter of 2011, Andrew mustered up the courage to ask Lesley on their first date.
Lesley graduated the following spring while Andrew completed his final year of college. During that time, Andrew and Lesley spent a lot of time together binge watching bad TV, planning costume parties and eating out at their favorite Boston restaurants in Coolidge Corner. Luckily for Andrew, Lesley’s roommates loved having him around because of his dependable ability to take the trash out on every visit.
When match day came around in March 2017 and Lesley discovered that she matched emergency medicine in Denver. At that time, Lesley and Andrew decided to make the big move west together. They quickly adjusted to life at elevation embracing all the mountains had to offer. They added June the mini schnauzer to the pack early in the summer of 2017 and Brady the schnoodle in early summer of 2018.
One morning in late summer 2018, after Lesley got back from an overnight shift, Andrew drove the group out to the mountains where they went for a short hike out to Rainbow Lake in Frisco, CO. It was a warm, sunny day so the puppies went for a swim in the lake. While Lesley was playing fetch with the dogs and watching them swim, Andrew got out the ring he had brought along for this occasion and got down on one knee and asked “the question”. Lesley was initially speechless, but once she caught her breath, she said “yes!”
