Girl, put your records on to the tune of “Come Sail Away” because this sailboat engagement session will whisk you away on the love boat. Too many lyrical references? Never! But really, these sunset engagement photos will give you all the feels. Magdelena Studios had fun capturing the couple in there element, saying, “This adventurous couple celebrated their engagement on a Summer night, aboard a colorful sailboat! Sammy & Cory are the perfect example of how a little planning can make photos so much more personal. We loved capturing these nautical details on film, making them feel even more timeless and nostalgic!”
Here are some words from Sammy, the bride-to-be…
Cory and I have the same group of friends, but for some reason, had never met each other. I’m super close with my cousins, and could always be found hanging out with them and their friends. One day my cousin took me to our friends’ and he said, “Cory will be there too.” I said, “who is Cory?” And my cousin responded along the lines of “He’s cool. You’ll like him.” Cory sat across from me and before we were introduced, I knew I already liked him. That night is still a little blurry from being so long ago, but Cory still tells me we talked and laughed together the rest of the night and said goodbyes without exchanging numbers.
For the next few months we both individually would try to see the other by going to our friends’ house when we knew the other was there. (We didn’t find out we were both doing this until months later). Eventually, one day I had every one at my house and once again, Cory left without my number… or so I thought. Cory actually got my number from one of our good friends and texted me. Needless to say, we never stopped talking and have been together ever since. Four years into our relationship on Cory’s birthday, in front of all of our friends and family, Cory got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.
