Nothing quite says “modern wedding” like an Oscar de la Renta wedding dress with an asymmetrical neckline and the chicest leaf-like lace pattern. Yep, this jewel tone wedding had us at the dress! And we are pretty sure it will be the same for you. But then there are its rich jewel tone colors, lush florals, and sparkling details (we’re looking at you, shoes!). And the couple! They too will make you swoon. At the end of it all, this emerald, burgundy and teal wedding couldn’t feel more romantic or inspiring!

Drawing inspiration from gorgeous, rich jewel tones, and the challenge to capture such tones in a bright and airy style, this styled-shoot was the result of several months of collaboration and planning with amazingly talented wedding vendors across Southern California. The Maxwell House in Pasadena, California, with its stunning outdoor courtyard, ornate details, and historic charm created the perfect setting for this modern, romantic wedding. The photo options were endless!
Letter & Ink created stationery that played off of the richness of the overall color palate. She kept the invitation simple but luxurious by adding gold leaf touches by hand, and incorporated an original illustration of the amazing venue into the save the dates. Place cards were incorporated into the menus, but with special attention to the texture of materials used so that names wouldn’t be lost on the page. Velvet ribbons from Emmalinh Co. added a delicate touch to the bouquet and invitation suite. A stunning oval, green tourmaline ring with a matching pair of earrings were original pieces by Easter Ahn Design, which added glamour and sparkle to the jewel-toned palette.
A chic, lush settee in emerald green by Provenance Rentals made for the perfect seating for our couple to exchange a warm embrace and sneak kisses. Vintage furniture with special elements like tufting and a unique shape created a sense of romance, and served to elevate the wedding from standard seating. Tastebuds Catering served up the perfect signature “his and hers” cocktails, and whipped cranberry goat cheese crostini to fit into the color palette. Finally, a simple and elegant veil provided by Julie Harris Designs truly brought the magic at golden hour.
Poppy Hill Flowers loved designing with bold lush colors. The gorgeous blue accents in the glassware and velvet napkins, made the florals pop even more. They used deep red David Austin garden roses, lush burgundy dahlias, anemones and orchids, and softened with pale blush accents and soft green eucalyptus. For the table they added a little pizazz to a commonly requested table garland by using florals that mimicked a garland but had blooms popping up, as if to engage in the conversations around the table. Poppy Hill Flowers let her creative juices flow with this dynamic center piece, adding height and dimension to the table scape.
Go Cakes mirrored the lush roses included in floral arrangements in a modern, abstract designed three-tiered cake. Teal table linens and scarlet details were the perfect contrast, with marble plates from La Pinata Rentals added for a modern-flare. A lighter table was chosen so as not to drown out the other elements.
