Romance is in the air in the Rockies! Between the bride to-be’s stunning velvet dress, the fall florals, and the playful snuggling between the nearly-weds there is something to inspire everyone. It came as no surprise to us that the bride, Sara, is a wedding planner, and planned the whole shoot to perfection! Sara did an impeccable job styling her Rocky Mountain National Park engagement photos. But don’t just take our word for it, read on to see how breathtaking the engagement photos turned out thanks to Courtney Dueppengiesser Photography! Also, you’ll get the heart-warming love story of how these two met – it is one for the books!
From Sara, In the summer of 2017 Kyle had expressed interest in me to one of my cousins, and little did I know he would be a groomsman in one of my weddings the very next weekend! He was too shy to approach me but had no problem asking my mother if I was single. She told him “good luck”…and the rest is history!
While planning our engagement session I knew I wanted the mood to be set for our wedding day, full of color, romance, and laughter! The natural beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park is breathtaking, and while I have planned styled engagement sessions for other couples, I knew I wanted the simplicity and beauty of our surroundings to shine through.
Even though we were miles from home I wanted our session to be as personal as possible. I wore a pair of my sister’s beautiful blue earrings, that I plan on wearing for our wedding day, and I brought a custom bouquet all the way from Illinois just for our engagement session. Lavish Floral Design created a beautiful and custom bouquet full of color and texture that complements our style.
From Kyle, I had proposed while Sara was in the midst of planning an elopement in Estes Park, CO, and we knew right away we wanted our engagement session to take place in that beautiful setting. It didn’t hurt that our wedding photographer would be there capturing the elopement!
The day of our engagement session was chilly and windy, yet all I remember is looking at Sara smiling and laughing, and thinking I’m the luckiest man alive. She is so beautiful, motivated and such a talented woman. I am excited to marry my best friend and the love of my life!
