With news as exciting as an engagement, this couple has all the reason to jump and dance around in front of a camera at Calamigos Ranch! Photographer, Amy Golding did an incredible job capturing every smile and adoring look exchanged by the happy couple. And with a stunning backdrop of the rolling Malibu hills and mystical sunset, what’s not to love?! Our favorite part about these Malibu hills engagement photos?… The sweet narrative the soon to be bride shares! Read on to hear how these lovebirds met and fell in love!
The photographer says, The rolling Malibu hills encircling Calamigos Ranch made for the most charming engagement session for Jackie and Brandon. Jackie being originally from Texas, loved the charm of this gorgeous venue and booked it for their wedding day. To make it a little different from their wedding day photos, we chose a spot overlooking all of the venue to do a majority of the session and then a secluded and romantic spot surrounded by a vineyard to watch the gorgeous Malibu sunset.
Jackie, the bride, shares…
Let’s see…how did we meet…oh yeah, TINDER! One of us was looking to meet her forever partner and the other (eh hum, Brandon) was taking a more casual approach…or so he thought. One date is all it took and he knew he had met his Tinderella-for-life. Our first date was at Gulfstream, in Corona Del Mar, three years ago and we’ve been together ever since!
Those of you that know Brandon, know how much he enjoys hosting an event, and the proposal did not disappoint! He planned an entire weekend full of surprises for me. On Friday around 4pm, he whisked me away for a stay-cation at our local Marriott, to a room with a balcony overlooking all of Newport. At that point, I knew this boy was proposing! The first stop was the Island Hotel, our favorite place to go chill and have a drink. He proposed in a quiet area where, after I said yes, he had a young musician appear out of nowhere playing our song! Soon after the music ended, we were greeted with champagne and light snacks to start our celebration. Next stop was Rothschild’s for dinner, where he convinced the owner to let him transform the upstairs balcony, they don’t use, into nothing short of a scene from the Bachelor. Rose petals, lanterns, candles….so romantic, AND it faced Gulfstream where we first met.
The next morning he surprised me with in-room brunch (I LOVE brunch) and a bag full of cards that he had several close friends and family write to us. That evening we went down to a country concert in Dana Point, where we practiced introducing each other as “my fiancé” and then Sunday was spent lounging around the hotel admiring the view. It was a truly magical weekend!
Could they be any cuter?!
Her dress is adorable!
