We can’t get enough of this summer camp inspired wedding on our wedding blog today! The bride & groom, with the help of Sincerely, Ginger Event Design, turned a beautiful lakeside resort into “Camp Nichols” for a wedding weekend all their own. From engraved copper mugs, to whimsical decor and a tented reception that hosted dancing well into the night, it was an idyllic day.
The photographer, Hailley Howard, shares, Tara and Chris met in Los Angeles but Chris’ hometown is Traverse City, MI. The couple found this amazing old summer camp with a Wes Anderson vibe that stole their hearts. I was so elated when they asked me to shoot the wedding because it truly sounded like a dream. The two married in front of their best friends and family on a warm summer day, on a serene lake, in nature, surrounded by greenery and darling white cabins. They did an amazing job with their reception space, creating an intimate space inside the vastness of the old camp. With long farm table seating, hanging geometric prisms and floral accents they transformed their space into a semi-modern fairytale banquet. They did it right; choosing a space that could house their nearest and dearest for a truly epic and unique three-day event!
