This couple knew they wanted their big day to be all about them, so when Erin Hannum hosted a contest for couples to come across the pond with her and elope, while she captured it all, it was fate. They said “I Do” in front of the lens, and just one other witness in a castle ruins elopement in Ireland! The green island, its picturesque cliffs, and the old stone castle can only be described as the perfect setting. It takes scrolling through the photos a time or two to actually believe it’s real!
Erin says, I had a trip planned to Ireland and thought, why don’t I bring a couple along that are madly in love, and have them elope? So I held a contest, and Seraya + Jordan were my first entry. They were perfect from the start. come to find out, they were friends with my cousin, and we lived 20 minutes apart! Fate definitely took a hand it this adventure. 🙂
I started researching locations and knew I wanted cliffs, and castle ruins. Those are all pretty easy to find in Ireland, but the two locations I went with are a little less touristy, which caught my eye. Instagram was crucial in finding my vendor team for this elopement. I reached out to Lyndsey, Karen, and Sarah, and they were totally in. Kristin of Detroit Bridal House crafted Seraya’s dress. Seraya brought along her grandmother’s fur, and her own accessories. Jordan is clearly a baller, and needed no help styling himself, and he looked perfect. Jordan’s best friend Jake came over from Boston to marry them, which made it extra special.
With this elopement, I wanted to showcase one that was true to the meaning of the word. Only a few friends and family even knew that Seraya and Jordan were hopping on a plane to get married in Ireland. It was done (mostly) in secret. Not because their families didn’t approve, but because they wanted their day to be about JUST them. We didn’t overcomplicate things with extra details, and cake, and guests, and favors. It was just about the two of them wanting to make a commitment to one another.
This elopement is next level, I would have never wanted to have one but now I see the appeal!
