After having to postpone your special day once, we’re sure the eventual walk down the aisle comes with a sigh of relief. However, just because the date changes, does not mean the magic does. Here, we see that proven in a beautiful way. These stunning images come from an Acre Baja Cabo wedding ceremony that will take your breathe away. With the intimacy of just the bride and groom present at the ceremony, each photo showcases the true love between them. The floral arrangements present in each space are eye-catching. With most family unable to travel, this couple made the most of a tough situation in a truly unforgettable way!
Here are a few Q&A’s with the bride about her beautiful Acre Baja Cabo wedding day…
01. How did you meet, and how long did you date before getting engaged?
We met in January of 2013 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Marty played junior hockey for the Halifax Mooseheads and I was going to school at Dalhousie University. My roommate at the time paid me $10 to give Marty my number after commenting that I thought he was cute! We dated for 5 and a half years before we got engaged.
02. How long was your engagement?
Almost 3 years! We got engaged in October of 2018 and planned to get married in the summer of 2020. With the pandemic, we postponed our wedding a year and got to enjoy some extra time as fiance’s.
03. Who proposed? When and how?
Marty proposed October 2018. We lived in Detroit at the time and were exploring a beautiful estate in Bloomfield Hills. We were wandering the gardens when Marty got down on one knee. He thoughtfully planned to have a photographer there so we could show our family and friends that moment afterward.
04. What was the number of guests on your special day?
None! As Marty is from the Czech Republic and I am from Canada, a large majority of our guests were still unable to travel and we didn’t feel that postponing a second time was the right answer either. We went ahead with celebrating as a couple. In the future, we hope to celebrate with our family and friends, but we felt we were ready to start the next chapter of our lives together as husband and wife.
05. How did you choose your Acre Baja Cabo wedding venue?
We visited San Jose del Cabo in 2019 and fell in love with Acre after dining at the restaurant and touring the property! Since both of our families are from different countries, as many of our friends are, we felt it was best to go with a destination wedding. Acre has so much natural beauty; we love all the wildlife and animals, and the food is incredible.
06. Did friends and family contribute to the ceremony in any way? If so, how?
Since our friends and family couldn’t be there with us, they all wrote us incredible letters and notes we could read on our wedding week and we plan to make a book out of them.
07. How did you choose your table decor?
We wanted something neutral with beautiful florals and textures to simply compliment the beauty around us. Our wedding planner Gaby took care of every detail and we were blown away at how beautifully everything came together. Our color scheme was neutrals, soft pinks, and whites. We thought this was a nice contrast the beautiful lush greens o Acre,
08. Describe your three favorite moments:
1. After dinner we danced alone in the empty Mango grove; it was the perfect ending to our day.
2. Before the wedding, we hung out by the pool and it felt so nice to just relax and spend the morning together in such peace before our ceremony. There was such a unique mix of anticipation, excitement, happiness, and nerves.
3. During both of our vows one of the Acre peacocks joined us and started calling. It felt like they were cheering us on and wanted to be a stand-in guest.
09. What did you learn from the experience?
Every wedding is different and they don’t have to be how you may have originally pictured to still be perfect. While it was very difficult to not be surrounded by our friends and family, it also meant we got to spend every moment with each other basking in the love we share for each other. My cousin and his wife shared a quote with us that really left a mark on us that day: “The real act of marriage takes place in the heart, not in the ballroom or church or synagogue. It’s a choice you make – not just on your wedding day, but over and over again – and that choice is reflected in the way you treat your husband or wife.” We learned that your wedding day is perfect, regardless of what it may look like, as long as it ends with a happy marriage.
10. If you could sum up your wedding day in one sentence, how would you describe it?
Our wedding was intimate, romantic, fun, and stress-free.
