California natives Esther and Jason met during a church Thanksgiving gathering in 2003 at the University of Michigan. He was a 5th year senior and she was a freshmen. Unfortunately with Jason graduating that summer and returning back to California, they rarely had opportunities to hang out. They always knew in the back of their minds that their families lived only a few miles away from each other. They even tried to meet up for coffee a few times but it didn’t happen until 8 years later. Esther had flown in from Korea for a short trip during Thanksgiving 2011 and Jason happened to be in California at that time as well. They grabbed some Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and the rest is history! They first met during Thanksgiving 2003 and rekindled their friendship during Thanksgiving 2011 and will celebrate 10 years of friendship Thanksgiving 2013! Heart of thanks is a reoccurring theme in their relationship – thankful for each other, their family and friends and simply cannot wait to celebrate their marriage next year! They wanted to incorporate the sun, trees, and raw nature in their engagement shoot, and Troy Grover Photographers captured their essence perfectly! We love the trail path in their shoot that symbolizes two people coming together to walk one path in life.
