Hey Swifties…does this venue look familiar? As if taking place at the scene of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video wasn’t enough, this French Chateau-inspired wedding is a true fairytale. As a result, each detail takes us back into an age of true romance. It is almost as if it is courting season in the newest Bridgerton episode. Has anyone seen Anthony? We cannot choose a favorite detail. From the ceremony’s florals to the grand nature of the reception setting, can you blame us? Finally, the bride’s outfit transition is everything. Put us in either of those gowns, and we’d be content.
Theresa Kelly Photography gives us the behind-the-scenes details of this French Chateau-inspired wedding,
Oheka Castle is an opulent French Chateau-inspired estate outside New York City. In this set, we co-mingle modern styling and delicate details for a unique interpretation of this venue.
Oheka Castle is a sought-after historic hotel and wedding venue in Long Island, convenient to New York City. Oheka is seen in films such as “Citizen Kane.” Moreover, It recently was the backdrop to Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” music video. This shoot is reminiscent of an elegant French Chateau; this shoot brings an updated take on the classic French countryside wedding.
Sakura & John were the stunning models for the French Chateau-inspired styled shoot at Oheka Castle. Sakura’s bold, geometric gown & feathered party dress gives an edgy modern take to the traditional luxury of the venue. Jon’s suit is not without some updated subtlety. His suit is delicately polka-dotted upon a closer look.
Next, she explained even more of the essential details,
Inspired by the topiary gardens and pastel exterior, the florals and ceremony styling remained light, organic, and whimsical. The florals positioned around the statue mirror all the other areas throughout Oheka’s grounds with walls of climbing ivy where other statues stand tall. The table was set in the garden amongst the fountains to perfectly harmonize the table settings with the surroundings. It offered guests an excellent via of the castle.
Instead of a conventional wedding cake, we have a croquembouche. This French dessert consists of pastry puffs sculpted into a cone shape, bound together with caramel. This is often served at special occasions (such as weddings) throughout Italy and France. Taking cues from Paris, Rachel Ellen Events styled bridal details to remind us of an afternoon picnic along the Seine.
No French-inspired wedding would be complete without a luxurious champagne tower, which tells everyone “the party is ready to start!” What a great idea to offer all the guests a great drink and toast the newlyweds shortly after the ceremony.
