Elegant Barn Wedding

A dreamy dress, vintage vibe, and lush ranch venue made for one beautiful & elegant inspiration shoot on our wedding blog today. Avec Weddings & Events envisioned the vintage-esque wedding with antique furniture in mind and found the perfect 19th century venue to match. Everything was soft, rustic, and romantic, and you’ll love hearing how it all came together from Jennifer herself!

It all started with my great grandmother’s desk. It is such a part of my family’s history and has an elegant vintage look and feel. When I came across The Loft at Jack’s Barn in Oxford, NJ, I knew that the venue was the perfect place to have the shoot. The barn itself dates back to the late 1800’s. Since the ground floor of the barn is an antique shop, it was as if the vintage desk belonged at the venue; it was the perfect marriage so to speak!

I sat down with Carolina Rivera of Carolina Wahnish Rivera Photography over a lovely coffee and a brownie and discussed the inspiration for the shoot. Since I drew inspiration from a vintage piece of furniture, I wanted the look and feel of the shoot to be elegant, rustic and romantic.

The amazingly talented Laura Clare of Laura Clare Fine Floral Design brought my floral design vision to life! Lush greenery, soft pink rose petals, seasonal summer fruits and herbs adorned the wedding table. Lovely green passion vine crept down over the ivory chiffon table runner while warm light from the candles flickered and danced. I chose vintage stemware and china to go along with the theme.

Earthy elements like rosemary and honey were incorporated into the event design as well. On the desk was a bowl of fresh summer fruit and our signature cocktail made with fresh honeycomb and garnished with rosemary. The elegantly rustic barely naked cake from Cake Fiction was drizzled with fresh honey.

Our model Alyson showed off the stunning Reem Acra gown in the open field of the barn and its surroundings. The beadwork sparkled in the sunlight while the long skirt flowed in the wind.
