We were immediately smitten with this dreamy Virginia coast wedding inspiration thanks to it’s oceanic, yet soft, color palette. Every detail is touched with deep blue, sandy nude, and steel grey hues down to the bride’s gown (We can’t even mention that gown without swooning!). Mandy shares, This Coastal Virginia Inlet editorial was inspired by the soft, natural elements left behind by the sea. The oyster influenced the color palette and complements the soft sand tones along the shore with rich dark blues of the ocean.
We want to influence coastal brides to lean toward natural elements and tones from the ocean when planning their wedding. You’ll see stationary hand dipped with indigo, as rich as if the ocean dyed the paper in its waves and a rugged table with industrial legs, inspired by washed up driftwood. It evokes a weathered feel from the water and elements. The supporting elements, just washed ashore, range from sea leaves to oyster shells, and even twine and netting.
The delicate dove blue-grey beaded Gossamer gown paired beautifully with the muted blue surroundings and brought a sense of peace to the setting. Our bride also wore bespoke Alice and Mae jewelry, which added a hint of glamour. Finally, her hair was adorned with soft braided waves that flowed in the salty air.
We hope that this shoot inspires brides to take a minimal, natural approach to their coastal wedding.
