This beautiful wedding at a Maryland manor immediately captured us with it’s perfect autumn setting and elegance throughout. The bride wore a gorgeous Lazaro ball gown while her maids wore navy chiffon dresses by Jenny Yoo – does it get more glamorous? Tall Ivory & gold floral arrangements continue the splendor while wooden table numbers & signs give the wedding the slightly rustic feel the bride & groom were going for. All together, it’s an idyllic fall wedding.
Wedding planner Katie, of Rose Gold Events, shares, Josh and Kelsey got married at the bottom of the Catoctin Mountains in Thurmont, MD at Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery on a picturesque October day. Greenery was draped over their ceremony welcome sign and the rust of fall leaves was the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.
They envisioned a “rustic romance” setting for their reception with an elegant and neutral color palette of navy blue, greens, ivory, and gold. Amber lighting, Texas wooden block table numbers, and centerpieces complete with combo roses and café au-lait dahlias complemented the rustic romance theme.
Josh and Kelsey both attended James Madison University, but actually met on a camping trip in West Virginia. A handful of girls from Kelsey’s sorority and guys from Josh’s fraternity got together to have a good time around the campfire. That night, Josh asked Kelsey to go to formal with him in Annapolis, MD. She gave him her number and told him to call her the next day. Sure enough he did and Kelsey was so excited to spend more time with him. They went to a lot of date functions together after formal and had a great time while Josh was still at school, and kept in touch after he graduated from JMU in 2009.
In May 2011, just a week before Kelsey graduated, Josh was in a terrible dirt bike accident. He asked Kelsey to come see him in the hospital, and that summer was the beginning of their relationship. Sometimes awful things happen to people and you spend forever trying to figure out why, but that accident is the reason they are together.
He proposed on the first day of summer, June 21, 2014, in Annapolis, MD. It wasn’t coordinated or choreographed, but completely unexpected and absolutely perfect.
