If you’re headed South for a Bachelorette Weekend Getaway in Charleston, consider it planned…
I was married in 2018 and during the Spring months my bridesmaids, close friends and I opted to get away to my favorite, gorgeous, and charming Southern city of Charleston, SC to enjoy a three day weekend of pretty festivities.
As a planner and designer, I wanted to ensure that this group of my closest friends enjoyed this Charleston bachelorette party to the fullest, as well as experience a trip filled with thoughtful details and beautiful gifts to thank them for being a part of my life and Sean’s, and my upcoming wedding day. My fabulous Maids of Honor worked over a period of three months to put together the most epic weekend with me. To this day, everyone claims that it was not only the best Bachelorette party they ever attended, but one of the best weekends of celebration they had ever experienced. And fortunately, one of my good friends and guest, Meredith Kerr, who is also a wedding photographer, offered to capture the entire weekend.
The theme of the weekend was Pastels and Palmettos inspired by the shades of Rainbow Row in Charleston and South Carolina’s symbol of the Palmetto. The color palette featured rainbow pastels including pastel pink, pale blue, soft green, lilac, dove gray, white, and accents of gold. Each attendee received a custom invitation by Amanda Day Rose Stationery including calligraphed envelopes by Becca Joas, a palm tree blush wax seal, and a drawn map enclosure of Rainbow Row featuring the itinerary for the weekend, which helped our guests determine what to pack for their trip.
Guests stayed in a charming white home in the Canonborough area of Charleston nearby the Citadel. Activities included a horse carriage ride throughout the town, brunch, and tour of Boone Hall Plantation (the plantation in the The Notebook), a walk along Rainbow Row, and the Battery with honey lavender lattes, brunch at the famous Poogan’s Porch, cocktails and appetizers at the renowned Husk Restaurant, cupcakes at Sugar Bakeshop, shopping at Canonborough Collective and Candy Shop Vintage, and dinners at Leon’s for oysters and High Cotton for low country cuisine.
