The wedding planner shared:
When Ashley came to me, she and Danny were going to go to the courthouse to get married. You see, Danny is an active military member and he was set to be deployed in the next coming months. At that time they did not have any other options. I decided that no couple should ever go without having their dream wedding. We just had started offering our pop up wedding services and I felt that since they wanted an intimate wedding anyway, we would give them their dream ceremony at no cost. I couldn’t see any couple more deserving than Ashley and Danny. When I told Ashley this, we were both in tears.
We wanted to incorporate a boho concept to match the beachy vibe. The ceremony was held at sunset cliffs in San Diego, California. We chose colors that the bride absolutely loved and we wanted to bring in a lot of contrast to that sandy beach, so we added dark brown and black to the color palette. The bride loves pampas grass as well as eucalyptus so we went ahead and styled a gorgeous gold arch with nothing but pampas grass. I felt that with the ocean as a background, we did not want to add too much to the arch and it turned out perfectly.
Her bouquet was adorned with white ranunculus, quicksand roses, and lots of eucalypti. I finished it off with a handmade macrame bouquet wrap that I felt was the perfect finish for this boho-inspired pop-up wedding. The aisle was nothing but a mix of Persian rugs to create a stunning walkway. We used different vases on the aisle and added greenery, bunny tails, and a mix of dried florals such as bleached ruscus. We wanted to greet guests with something different that could also be used as a keepsake for the couple. We had an octagon-shaped wooden plank made with their names and wedding date out of wood that was laser cut to add dimension. it was definitely a hit at the wedding.
We wanted the couple to have lasting memories of their ceremony so we also created a sweetheart table that had lots of texture. We used a macrame runner, gorgeous plates and lots of different candles stick along with a very large centerpiece. As a send-off we had guests use pull string smoke sticks in different colors; that made it fun for the little guests! We had their vows written in calligraphy for the couple to keep as a lasting memory of their commitment to each other. Guest enjoyed a champagne toast and cake on location before the couple went off to take photos at this stunning location. Our pop up wedding is small and intimate and we focus on the couple and that’s truly what this wedding was about.
