Although the pair could have been high school sweethearts, Anna & Rob’s love story didn’t begin until a few years later. As fate would have it, they fell in love and celebrated a life and future together in a beautiful al fresco wedding, outdoors in California. Their planner, Naseem at Naseem Events (who also happened to go to high school with the them!) combined fresh California feels with the bride’s Spanish heritage for the decor. She used earth tone colors like greenery and tan, which were greeted with pops of blue and pink to bring in the Spanish wedding flair. All together, this day culminates the sweetest love story in a beautiful way. We know you’re going to love it…
Naseem says, Anna and Rob are picture perfect. The two of them went to high school together but didn’t reconnect until Rob spotted Anna in class at San Jose Sate University a few years later. The way he tells it, the clouds parted and he saw the most beautiful woman in the world and knew in that moment he would marry her. The rest is history.
What made this wedding so special to me (Naseem) was first, reconnecting with Anna since we had gone to high school together too! We were able to rekindle our friendship 10 years later and spent a full year planning her wedding together. To blend her family’s Spanish heritage with some all-American class, I decided to tie in small, subtle hints of Spanish culture into the decor. The table numbers were all mosaic print and I had our amazing baker Rachel do the same design on the bottom tier of her cake. We kept everything green and organic, with only small pops of color in Anna’s bouquet and the turquoise water goblets.
My vision was a true al fresco wedding reception dining experience so we decided to go with bare farm tables, adorned with copper chargers and tons of greenery. I wanted to keep the earthy theme throughout the decor so we opted for displaying all her escort cards on actual leaves, taped on gorgeous vintage French doors. Every table was accented with giant succulents in various sized vessels.
This al fresco wedding was such a warm, inviting evening for everyone — and boy did they like to dance! The party did not stop as Anna and Rob’s wedding was truly a milestone celebration for all in attendance.
