How did you meet, and how long did you date before getting engaged?

The Bride Shares,

“Rader and I met in September of 2021 and we have been inseparable ever since. We were set up on a blind date by my boss who is friends with his cousin. They knew we both love the beach and music and had laid back personalities. He invited to travel to Austin City Limits music festival after only knowing each other for 5 days. Being together was so effortless and we had the best time. I think we both knew after that weekend that we would be together. And after that, we dated almost 2 years before proposed in August of 2023.”

How did you choose your wedding venue?

The Bride Continues,

“We are both beach people and love being close to the ocean. I have always known I wanted a beach wedding. It was just a matter of where. Rader first introduced me to Punta Mita a couple months into dating. Rader grew up surfing and his family had been taking trips down to Punta Mita in the past years for a while now. His uncle loved Punta Mita so much that he ended up building a home on the golf course, which is where our rehearsal dinner took place. When deciding whether to get married in Mexico or the Bahamas. Logistically Mexico made more sense. Especially only being a 2 hour flight from Texas. Not to mention our major love for margaritas and Mexican food.”

What were your 4 favorite moments from your wedding day in  Punta Mita?

The Bride Adds,

“Taking photos on the beach after the ceremony and just having that special alone time with Rader. We didn’t do a first look so this was our first time seeing each other and really getting to talk and take it all in. It was golden hour and beautiful. At one point, Rader got under my veil with me and we were dying laughing. We had no idea how the photos would turn out and they are now some of my favorite ones.”

“The speeches during the rehearsal. – Because of work conflicts, many of our friends couldn’t make it until late Thursday afternoon for our Friday wedding. Arriving just in time for the rehearsal, with no time for small talk. For those who we hadn’t seen in a while, the speeches were particularly meaningful, setting the perfect tone for the weekend and reminding us all why we were there in the first place.”

“I redesigned my mother’s vintage wedding gown, and made it my own. During the reception, I switched out of my wedding dress and into my mom’s. I went with just my little sister to change and it was a special moment during the festivities having that quiet alone time together. Knowing she’ll use the leftover fabric for her own wedding dress one day makes it even more meaningful. Then we got to walk out together and surprise my mom in the dress!”

“The firework show after the cake cutting really got the party started!”

What did you learn from the experience?

“Don’t stress the little things because in the end none of the fluff matters. It’s a celebration about you and your person and when your surrounded by the people you love, there is no way it won’t be the best night of your life. Stay present because it goes by sooo fast.
