This wedding was filled with all things Philadelphia. The couple incorporated the Old City streets during their first look, and even had each table named after different neighborhoods. It’s safe to say that Philadelphia holds a special place in this couple’s hearts. One of our favorite details, is the bride’s dress change for the live band reception! This glamorous and modern Philadelphia wedding included so many amazing, heartfelt details which make it feel sentimental, yet fun!
The planner shares,
“This Philadelphia wedding was glamorous, modern & timeless! Devon stunned in an elegant, off the shoulder gown from Sarah Seven. Matt’s deep blue tux from Thomas Clifford paired perfectly with the pops of blue and purple in the florals. The first look and portraits took place on the streets of Old City, Philadelphia. The couple’s sweet pup made an appearance during portraits, and also accompanied Devon & Matt during their receiving line after the ceremony!
The reception took place at Franklin View by Cescaphe. The tented space was filled with modern & unique details. Linear elements such as a grid design on the clear ceiling, and a square, tiered cake added to the modern vibe. Dining tables were labeled with Philadelphia neighborhoods. Black chairs and deep grey curtains paired with a lustrous black dance floor and made the space feel modern, yet timeless. Chandeliers, floral arrangements and twinkle lights hung from the ceiling and provided a cozy & welcoming feel. After the first dance, Devon changed into a short, fringed dress by Nadine Merabi that was perfect for twirling on the dance floor!“
Some advice for future brides, from the bride herself,
“I would recommend planning alone time for you & your partner. I couldn’t wait to tell Matt about the morning of and getting ready, and I was equally as eager to hear about his morning with the groomsmen. It is great to see family and socialize, but don’t forget time for just the two of you. The moments I got alone with Matthew on our wedding day were my favorite.
I also HIGHLY recommend a first look! I know it can be controversial, but it was perfect for us. The nerves leading up to seeing your significant other are real, and I was thankful to have that moment with him where no one was around. We were able to share our own personal vows and take it all in. It totally made the rest of the day so easy. By the time we got to the church I was so relaxed and ready to marry my best friend!
While planning, I think couples should sit down and talk about their must haves. For us, it was a band. I feel like that really elevates the vibe of the wedding! We got SO much positive feedback about our band. We were very fortunate and lucked out on getting Carnivale, who made the night so much fun!
I would also say to be flexible. I know how special this day is with so many differing opinions and decisions. Stay true to yourself but realize at the end of the day, the little things you stress about won’t matter at all on your wedding day.”
