In case you didn’t already know, the month of May is mental health awareness month, and we are always trying to explore ways to improve self-care and mental health that work for us that we can then share with you. One small thing that can help with self-care and is easy to do is taking a relaxing bath! We know taking a bath might not seem groundbreaking but we’re sharing some bath essentials that totally are. Every bath lover will get great use out of these products! And if you aren’t a bath lover, but are considering drawing a bath in the near future to unwind, then you will find something useful too, that may just convert you. If these products don’t do it for you, the images of dreamy bathtubs will! You’ll want to re-create them in your own home or hotel room. Get ready to lay back, relax and soak.

Anything to help take some stress off of the neck and shoulders. Goop’s “Martini” Emotional Detox Bath Soak is the perfect mix of Himalayan pink salt and chia seed oil that will help take the edge off after a crazy day. We look forward to adding a cup of this detox soak into our bath after a long day at the office.
2. Bath Bomb
Bath bombs are a fun and colorful way to add some excitement to your bath routine. Lucky for us, Lush has bath bombs of all shapes, sizes, colors, and fragrances to make each experience different and exciting! I think we can all agree the best part is when you first drop the bomb into the bath and watch and colors begin to overtake the water, but they all reap great benefits too.

If you enjoy reading or lighting a nice candle (see below) while you soak in your bath then a caddy tray is game changing! And if the tray happens to have a built-in wine holder then it really can’t get much better right? 😉 Don’t worry about juggling your phone, book, iPad, candle or wine with an awesome bathtub caddy tray. Give it a try and let us know what you think in the comments!
4. Candles
You can never have too many candles! We might be the biggest advocates for setting the mood and adding to the overall ambiance with candles for days. Aromatherapy is a real thing and candles totally help us relax after a busy day. The mood lighting mixed with the pleasing scents will have you feeling calm in no time.

5. Bath Salts
Looking for really soft skin mixed with lovely scents? Adding bath salts will help with just that. Lay back and relax as you wait for the salts to dissolve and relaxation to take over. If we don’t have time to take a long bath, adding some bath salts is a quick and easy way to add something special to your bath.

6. Comfy Robe
When you are all done with your bath and want to keep the relaxation going, we suggest bundling up in a soft and comfortable robe that is soft on your skin. We don’t know about you, but when we get out of the shower or bath we like to just relax in our robes while we get ready or unwind a little bit before bed. Investing in a lovely robe is a must for us. It also makes for a great gift for your girlfriends or family members!

7. Bath Oil
For a sumptuous bathing treat, we suggest splurging on a nice bath oil. From floral to fruity to spicy you will be able to find a bath oil that helps hydrate the skin while enjoying the wonderful scents.
8. Loofah
Exfoliating is an important part of keeping your skin feeling fresh and soft. Helping to unclog pores and allowing for your skin to breathe freely and naturally is enough reason to invest in a proper loofah or sponge. We love that clean feeling that comes after using a loofah in the shower or bath and then applying a soothing lotion afterward!
Essential oils are the holy grail of relaxation. Leaving the body and mind de-stressed, easing tension, and leaving skin super-hydrated and soothed. A little goes an incredibly long way with some essential oils. Make sure to keep in mind the safe and effective ways to use oils in your home and your bath. We love mixing fragrance combinations that set the mood we are hoping to achieve.
