The mom-to-be and her own mom planned and designed this spring inspired Peter Rabbit baby shower that will transport you right into Mr. McGregor’s vegetable garden. It brings the children’s tale to life in pastel, vintage fashion reminiscent of the storybook itself. They put their DIY skills to work creating a unique seating chart of potted lavender, a bar cart full of treats for guests to take home, and handmade floral arrangements. This adorable theme is perfect for springtime, with all the fresh Farmer’s vegetables and garden flowers, as well as for a baby boy with all the baby blue accents. Plus, like it’s inspiration, the classic theme will stand the test of time!
The grandma-to-be helped plan and orchestrate the whole baby shower, saying…
A Peter Rabbit baby shower for a special momma to be. It was so fun creating this shower, from the old garden arch decorated with greenery, carrots, a welcome sign and a “no rabbits allowed” warning, to a seating chart scene where guests searched for their names amongst real potted lavender, to the dessert table covered in greens and garden inspired desserts.
Peter himself sat on the table admiring the Peter Rabbit cake that sat on a glass cake stand filled with real veggies. Special details were added by creating Josephine Bunny’s Tea & Tobacco scene where guest could fill canvas bunny imprinted sachet bags with organic lavender. A large Beatrix Potter Complete Tales of Peter Rabbit made the perfect memory book where guest signed and left messages for baby and mommy. Centerpieces overflowed with English country flowers in vintage wheelbarrows and tables were set with antique table clothes, tin chargers and vintage green goblets. Momma-to-be had her own garden peacock chair adorned with greenery. Framing the chair was a Peter-blue balloon garland. It was a truly magical day, even Beatrice herself would have loved.
