There is truly nothing better than sunshine, bright colors, and fresh florals paired together. This fun in the sun, Palm Springs inspired baby shower has all the perfect details. We love that the invitation clearly defines the theme and already creates that ‘Palm Springs meets Summer baby’ vibe! If we received this kind of invitation to a party, we would be the very first to RSVP. The customized details throughout this baby shower are next level. The keychains with tassels and coasters that guests were gifted are some of our favorites!
The mom-to-be shares about her vision,
“My husband, Koen, and I were incredibly excited to throw a baby shower for our baby girl arriving over the Summer. I work as an event planner & graphic designer at Two Perfect Events, and I knew the team could help me achieve my dream baby shower! I have always been enamored by the allure of Palm Springs. The Two Perfect Events team and I brainstormed ideas to incorporate that ‘Palm Springs meets summer baby in California’ vibe. We wanted to feel like we were on a classic vacation in Palm Springs with surprise and delightful inspirations drawn from Gray Malin’s retro aesthetics and Wes Anderson’s quirky style.”
The mom-to-be continues with the details,
“The invitation suite set the tone with a pool-inspired blue envelope sleeve. It housed the colorful, double-sided checkerboard invitation, topped with a gold tassel. They were sent out in pink envelopes with yellow cabana striped envelope liners. Everything at the baby shower matched both the colors of the invitation as well as the designs.
Guests were welcomed with a “mom-osa” bar cart with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options. TÖST is a great a non-alcoholic champagne option that still felt like an adult drink. The tables were adorned with the most beautiful and playful florals, designed by Mister Lee Designs. The arrangements consisted of an array of flowers that included my favorite flower, the anthurium shibori. Some flowers displayed themselves in cut watermelon slices and the pink dahlia tuber flowers matched the pink flamingo straws.
The welcome table, decorated with favors, guestbook, box for baby books, and prizes for games. The favors were heart shaped sunglasses and Sugarfina’s famous champagne gummy bears. The guestbook was a frame with a mat that the guests signed, and a group photo taken from the baby shower would be later displayed in the frame. As for the baby books, I loved the idea of having books from the guests (which they signed) in place of a card. I also had retro car toys around as decoration because I loved Gray Malin’s photos of dogs in those types of cars.”
The mom-to-be continues,
“The custom photo backdrop reads ‘Girls just wanna have sun’, as a fun way to tie into the theme, while also alluding to the fact that I’m expecting a baby girl. We decorated it with large live plants (from Leafy), a custom BUMP street sign, large pink car, and large disco balls. The pink car carried a package labeled ‘special delivery arriving soon’. The design inspiration was from Wes Anderson’s Mendl’s patisserie packaging from the movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel. Disco balls of various sizes (from Abbey Party Rents) dispersed throughout the venue refracted fun little specks of light everywhere.
The dessert table, filled with so many cute and custom mini desserts! Which includes a cake pop, designed to be a pink beach ball, made by La Vie Douce Designs. I, of course, also had to have my favorite Japanese snack called Pocky – strawberry cream covered biscuit sticks. We also brought in a Bliss Pops popsicle cart for guests to stay cool, decorated with a menu that said ‘Ready to Pop!’.
The lunch table, set up in the outside veranda took place underneath beautiful wicker fans with the gorgeous pool as the backdrop. The guests sat at long King’s tables with blue acrylic chairs from Blueprint and Nüage Designs linens. The table display also included coral napkins from Chairs4Events and ornate green plates with gold & silver flatware from Hensley.
Everyone found their seats through the custom-designed motel style keychains which had their names engraved in them. The coasters, created by the Two Perfect Events team, were also the gift for attending guests,
It was a memorable day and such a reprieve to be able to spend time with our loved ones. Especially, after not being able to see everyone for most of the pandemic. Not to mention ,one of the most epic and beautiful parties to throw our daughter-to-come.”
