You don’t have to be seven to have a good time at this kids party! No, Zooey In The City’s 80s birthday party was just as fun everyone, whether you were 2 or 42. After all, it featured a full on mobile nail salon! And that’s just for starters! The rest of the day entailed pool games, a play area (which is great for kids and their parents), a photobooth, karaoke, and more. We’re privy to the MTV decorated cookies and the 80s band tees, personally, but the young blogger also sent her guests home with a swag bag full of products from brands like Barbie, Herschel, and Lipsmackers (remember Lipsmackers?!). This is a birthday bash you need to see to believe, so what are you waiting for? Get scrollin’!
After Zooey’s 5th birthday, which was 70’s themed, I thought that I would never do another party until she was 16!! But because she has worked so hard and 7 is her lucky number we decided to throw an 80’s themed 7th Birthday Party for her! After brainstorming, I thought about all the things that we loved in the 80’s and reached out to brands that would help bring this party to life. Our parties tend to have a strict dress code and we can always count on our guests to show up in style!
In terms of 80’s decor: Anagram Balloons provided us with balloons, Wild Child party made Zooey a garland to match with the 80’s party theme, Sunnylife Australia provided floaties to decorate the pool and Mattel provided Barbie decor and party supplies.
The Nail Truck came and pampered all of Zooey’s guests with mini manicures. We also hired Karaoke which was a huge hit with the parents and kids! This specific company specialized in 80’s rock bands so it was a perfect fit for Zooey’s party. Meshkids provided a ball pit and soft play area for the kids. I can’t even explain how important having a play area like this is for events! It’s so great for kids of all ages, and adults can play in the ball pit too! And, of course, we had a photobooth station by Everlasting Photobooth. We set up a Barbie piñata but didn’t plan to have people hit it and just laid it on the table with HI CHEW coming out of it. The kids ended up filling up their Herschel Fanny packs with the candy.
We had these amazing 80’s themed cookies made by Allison Bakes. Mattel had a nearby bakery bake Zooey a Barbie Birthday Cake. Loop Churros made mini rainbow sprinkled churros and JIMBOYS catered the food. I mean Jimboys has the best tacos EVER!!! In terms of the drinks, Kidsluvjuice provided their newest healthy juice drink which doesn’t have a lot of sugar.
I also thought that it would be cute to have fashionable 80’s inspired options for people. Rowdy Sprouts gifted 80’s band tees, V by Vye gifted matching sunnies for the moms and their minis, Herschel gifted Fanny Packs, Pride Socks gifted rainbow striped tube socks, and Scunci gifted a ton of cute hair accessories.
We always like to make sure our guests leave with the best swag, as Zooey wants her guests to feel as special as her on her birthday. Mattel and Barbie came in as an amazing sponsor, gifting tons of Barbies, Barbie toys, Polly Pockets (which were a huge hit!) and Barbie tees from Target. Caboodles provided mini caboodles for Zooey’s guests and Yoobi provided stationery for the kids and stickers for the kids to DIY their caboodles. Lipsmackers provided a ton of product for the kids to fill their caboodles. YAA provided beauty products for the parents and we used them to decorate THE NAIL TRUCK.
Overall, Zooey had an amazing time with her friends, enjoying everything from DIYing her caboodles, jumping 100 times into the ball pit, getting her mini mani with her besties, and singing her heart out to Girls Just Wanna Have Fun on Karaoke!
