Who run the world? Girls! Is there a more perfect theme for a girl’s birthday bash!? This girl power birthday party was hosted by the birthday girl’s mama and talented party-gal, Pamelyn at Bashery & Co. She took quotes, modern slang, and a bit from Beyoncé to make her little girl’s party not only fun and unique, but also inspiring. A good theme and a hot pink color palette – what more do you need? There were also plenty of entertaining crafts, yummy deserts, and trendy cocktails (for the parents, of course) to keep everyone happy.
Pamelyn shares, We traded in the super hero capes for Beyonce style girl power! The future is female and the younger we can teach our girls to support one another and be kind, the better! So I created a girl power birthday party with that idea in mind.
Inspired by the Girl Power t-shirts from Savage Seeds and the vintage “Support Your Local Girl Gang” logo, I asked Creative Amme to create a backdrop and bar sign with those in mind. Say I Do Party Shop designed a bold balloon install featuring Qualatex Balloons for the backdrop wall that included pinks and turquoise. The custom bar and drinks by Coastal Cocktails couldn’t have been more perfect with the “Support Your Local Girl Gang” message with the neon heart to always promote love. And the florals and balloons draping the bar were stunning. Also, the edible art drink toppers were so extra – it was amazing!
The rentals from Teak & Lace, especially their brand new pink ghost chairs, had the kids sitting in style. I wrapped each of the tables with matte wrapping paper to give the tablescape a bold, yet smooth, feel that was balanced out with mini neon and marquee lights that went perfectly with the Geese and Ganders party ware. I picked up colorful florals from the local flower mart and used beautiful bud vases from Pier 1 Imports along with balloon inspired words as centerpieces.
The “Who Run the World” banner above the most beautiful dessert table by Sugar Crush Sweets, was bold and powerful, as it should be. They introduced their first macaroon tower and it was a stunner. The custom details on the desserts and the sweet messages also continued to tie in the theme.
Art Camp LA set-up a DIY Slime and Power Cuff Decorating Station while Girl Power themed beats filled the air by DJ Maasha. Meanwhile, the adults took advantage of the bar and the custom cocktail signs that were the talk of the party. If we all weren’t lit enough, Love This Way LA lit up the party with their number 5 marquee and brand new heart marquee.
Every business involved in this girl power birthday party is women-owned and super rad! GIRL POWER!!
