This groovy 60s themed baby shower is the coolest we’ve seen recently! Photographer Valerie Metz knew exactly what she wanted when it came time to plan her shower. Her and her husband’s love of the hippie era and all the good music to come out of it made its way into every detail. From peace signs and tie-dye to flower crowns and bamboo furniture. Even the signage boasted the theme with a bubble letter font. Warning: you may walk away from your computer with The Rolling Stones lyrics in your head…
Valerie shares her inspiration…
The theme was “Baby’s First Woodstock” to go with our son’s name, Hendrix Lou. My husband and I have always loved anything and everything 60-70s – especially the music. Since Jimi Hendrix played at Woodstock, what better theme to have for our son, right? We celebrated with a Kombucha bar, indigo tie dye decor, camp-style teepee vibes, the perfect 70s crochet dress, and lots of creative DIY ideas. To add music to it, my friend handmade signs with lyrics from that era such as “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, “Wild Side” by Lou Reed, and “It’s Rock n Roll (but I like it)” by The Rolling Stones. I refused to have any sort of mason jars so iI hand collected/thrifted amber glass bottles of various sizes. iI also chose not to have regular table seating but lounge furniture instead to make it feel more “homey” and “campy”.
This is the cutest!
adorable!
What a fun theme!
