Calling all self-proclaimed book lovers! You’re going to absolutely adore this first birthday party celebration for the book lover – and you might even steal a few ideas for your next party! This birthday party revolved around a library theme and we can’t get enough of the details. From a book cake that looks *almost* too realistic to eat to a mini reading lounge for all of the kids to enjoy, this party was the perfect way to celebrate a little boy that loves to read! Scroll down to see all of the fun details and get ready to take a page out of this book when it comes to planning your next party (see what we did there?!).
The planner shares:
Luc’s 1st Birthday party was designed around his LOVE for books and reading. Since Luc is being raised tri-lingual, they had books in different languages represented as well. The cake (by Mike’s Amazing Cake’s) was ACTUAL cake made into some of his favorite books. So sweet! As guests walked into the party, they were greeted with a pale yellow painted acrylic round sign with dried flowers. The kids entered the party and found face painting, ball pits, bubbles, and so much more!
We had a lovely spread of food from their favorite restaurants and bakeries, served along with syrup from Canada (where Luc’s dad is from, and what we gave as favors for the birthday!). Along with the syrup favors (with cute labels by The Fancy Cat Studio), guests received recipes of their favorite pancakes that they make for Luc every weekend. There was also a fun mimosa bar, with mini balloon stirrers and custom drink stirrers made by Pomp and Revel (which read “the story of Luc”, “One” and one had a stack of books!). The labels for the various juices were on library book check-out labels! We also had a coffee bar: YUM!
The cookies by Sueded Sugar were adorable, and all revolved around the book/library theme. They were almost too cute to eat! Along with the book cake and book cookies, guests enjoyed some Brazilian treats and mini cupcakes and macarons from Lady Yum. The dessert table was on top of a dresser from Vintage Ambiance and was surrounded by a fun balloon garland by Confete Party Box. The gelato cart was a HUGE hit, with a custom sign made for Luc’s birthday party by The Fancy Cat Studio.
We made a fun “Year of Luc” display with photos of him from each month of his life, adorned with some bleached modern flowers and greenery. It was a great event full of love for this little book lover, all documented by Sarah Carpenter Photography!
