Neutral & Metallic Master Bathroom Makeover

Last month, we were pleased to share our experience in Chicago with Delta Faucet with you. But today, we are even more excited to share how we drew from our day of ultimate design inspiration to embark on a master bathroom makeover. In case you missed it, we toured the windy city with Delta via a trolley tour to some of Chicago’s most notable architectural wonders. We saw beautiful buildings and landmarks but were encouraged to focus on the little details that made them each so fabulous.

From there, we created an inspiration board for a kitchen or bathroom makeover based on what we had seen. Needless to say, it was a fun and exciting project! So, when we returned home we couldn’t wait to get started on our mini makeover. Originally we had set out to re-do our kitchen but after seeing awesome fixtures, metal works, and bathroom faucets, we were inspired to update the master bathroom.

Before:

The focal point of our new bathroom is the Zura™ Bath Collection faucet. We chose the polished nickel finish because the sleek, metallic, and warm color matches the contemporary streamlined design so well. The modernity of this faucet caught our attention, not only in style, but in features as well. Its  Touch2O® Technology means you can literally touch this faucet on and off! This means, when your hands are dirty or full of makeup, you can use the back of your hand or wrist to tap the faucet on — genius. Additionally, the faucet has a temperature-indicating light that goes from blue to red based on how hot the water is. Sold yet?

To match the fabulous faucet, and our design inspiration, we decided to re-decorate with warm metals. We weren’t afraid to mix deep and bright copper and gold with the brushed nickel. The combination is modern, pretty, and brings out the different color tones in the tile. Just make sure the metals show up in more than one place. For instance, we incorporated gold in both the mirrored tray, the ring holder, and the plant vase. Plus, it ties in the jewelry so that it doesn’t seem out of place either. We also used copper in the bath product organizer and towel basket, as well as the soap dispenser and toothbrush holder.

To continue building a warm palette, we brought in wooden decor such as a vanity tray, jewelry holder, and linen basket. Don’t be afraid to accessorize your bathroom. As long as everything has a place, it will look clean and well kempt, not busy. Plus, you always need a space for everyday products or accessories you wear all of the time.

In a predominately neutral space, it’s always a good idea to bring in a little bit of color. We particularly love the sage walls and neutral and blush bath rug to achieve this goal. Our inspiration board focused on combining warm and cool tones with different metals and we are so happy with the result! It goes to show that small updates can make a big difference. A new sink and faucet, and a fresh coat of paint go a long way to clean up a space while new accessories help liven it up!
