Comfortable Home with Vintage Style

I love this new addition to Inspired by This of featuring home tours! I’ve had such a great time designing my own home after getting married and it’s such an exciting time for a couple to nest and furniture their home together so I’m honored when couples are open to sharing their  homes with us! Today, my dear friend and editor of The Little Mrs. ( an interiors, home styling, inspiration blog), Fawn Giordano is inviting us into her comfortable home. You may remember Fawn from when we featured her gorgeous black and white Italian inspired wedding on the blog a while ago!  Well, Fawn and her husband are all grown up now with a house and two babies to share it with! Take a look at the fabulous pictures that Melanie Duerkopp took! We asked Fawn some questions about the design process and here is what she had to say!

What was your biggest inspiration in the décor of your home?

It’d be tough to name just one inspiration, I am inspired by so many amazing sources all the time.  Of course my go to magazines Elle Decor and House Beautiful, among others.  And there are so many wonderful design blogs out there now that it’s impossible to get my fill.  But I would also say I’ve let the house inspire me over the 6 years that we’ve lived here.

What is your favorite room in the house?

My favorite room is probably the dining room.  I love my old pine farm table (which happens to be a hand me down from my mother-in-law) and the clock above the fireplace.

How much help did you have to get your house this cute?

While the decorating is pretty much all me, I do have a great support system for sure.  My husband first and foremost.  His patience with my endless rearrangements and reorganizing of our home is astounding.  Although, he’s probably had to rehang curtain rods a few more times that he’d like.   I also am blessed to have both a mother and a mother-in-law equally as obsessed with home decor as I am and both with excellent taste.

What was your biggest challenge when decorating your house?

Working on a budget is a challenge that I feel totally equipped to handle.  But there are some big things about our house that I’d like to change.  I’m not a huge fan of the kitchen – I don’t like the counters or the cabinets and that is a very pricey operation.  So I think my challenge has been to make the rest of the house cute enough that it detracts from the things I don’t like or haven’t gotten around to changing yet…
