When it comes to dinner parties, this one may just take the cake. Or in this case, meatball. The Italian themed dinner party is warm, bold, and fun. Crosby & Jon designed it with an Italian village market in mind. They incorporated everything from Italian cuisine to musical instruments native of the area. We love how they styled the tabletop with fresh produce and richly colored wine goblets. And when you think it can’t get prettier, gold Flatware and striped linens add yet another beautiful touch. From the bright florals to the handmade cigars, we know you will find plenty of inspiration here.
The designers at Crosby + Jon share…
We have had the pleasure of designing several retreats for Toyota at the luxurious Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach. This round, our inspiration took form of Old World Italy, specifically that of a small Italian street market. We tied in several focal points like a vintage aqua blue Vespa, rustic merchant cart and authentic hanging food scales. These are pieces one would undoubtedly come across when perusing the streets of a local villa. Guests mingled in the courtyard, making their way to one continuous row of barn-wood farm tables, and dined in true family style fashion.
We designed compositions of aromatic herbs and vibrant produce across the tablescape, accenting striped linens and toasted baguettes. Cranberry and crystal goblets brimmed with authentic Italian vino while traditional Italian dishes were served on colorful patterned plates. After dinner, guests made their way to lounge vignettes of leather armchairs and tufted velvet sofas. To complete the décor, we placed wooden crates, stone urns, red bricks and even an accordion laden with untamed garden finds. Overhead café lights enchanted our vibrant taste of Italy as guests enjoyed the evening… hand rolled cigars and vino in hand!
If you’re planning your own dinner party for the upcoming holidays, this Thanksgiving dinner is another great source of inspiration!
