Tribe Design Group tells us all about this home tour for those who love to entertain,
The home was designed for a family of five that is very busy, particularly entertaining the friends and families of three kids. The kitchen in particular needed to be durable, functional, and comfortable, but also alluring. It’s the heart of the home, so Tribe added a large island to seat the entire family. The space needed to feel warm and earthy while being clean and modern. Objects from the family’s travels and the outdoors that reflect their personality were thoughtfully selected.
The family prefers a clean, minimalist vibe so Tribe chose four materials to work with; concrete, white oak, marble, and brass. Concrete floors were selected because of their durability. Spills are easy to clean up and the kids can come in and out of the pool dripping wet without any worries. A rift-sawn white oak was selected for the cabinets to warm up the concrete floors, which feel organic and cozy. The Calacatta marble makes the space feel light and airy. The light fixture, range hood detail, faucets, and hardware are all burnished brass, which feels earthier than shiny brass.
