Be it on beach days or plane rides, we tend to get most of our reading done during the summer. So we’re always on the look-out for the books we can dive into and escape with. These page turners made our summer reading list for that reason. Whether they capture us with wit, inspiration, or the good ‘ole “what happens next?!” they’re totally enthralling.
Her Every Fear by Peter Swanson
Housing everything a good thriller should within its pages, Her Every Fear has danger, manipulation, and murder. The Hitchcockian psychological thriller will keep you on your toes as you wonder if the protagonist’s cousin killed the girl next door.
Into The Water by Paula Hawkins
Whether ‘Thriller’ is your genre of choice or you were a fan of The Girl on The Train, you have to pick up Paula Hawkins newest novel. When a single mother turns up dead in a town river, there is much to be discovered.
The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney
The light-hearted witty novel follows the Plumb family whose problems are anything but. You’ll flip through the pages quickly, anxious to know how the grown siblings sort out their missing inheritance.
Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert
Nothing says “summer read” like an inspiring novel from the author of Eat, Pray, Love. You’ll leave it being a bit more brave, curious, and ready to dig into your own life and discover your next creative adventure.
The Amateurs by Sara Shephard
Ready to launch into a new series? If you’re a follower of Pretty Little Liars the answer is ‘Yes!’ Author Sara Shepard kicks off a similarly mysterious & romance filled plot thick with twists and turns as Seneca Frazier tries to solve a cold case.
Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed
This collection of columns from “Dear Sugar” at The Rumpus navigates life’s bumpy roads in an encouraging, humorous, and insightful way thanks to Cheryl Strayed’s, author of Wild, advice.
