Move over Rhianna, there is a new Beauty from Barbados in town; Gia Graham, Who is the owner and creativity behind Betsy White, a charming stationery boutique. Surprised I didn’t say her name was Betsy White? According to Gia, there is no Betsy! However there is a cool story behind the name. On her native island there is a bird whose song sounds like, “Betsy White” the sound and bird made her happy so she used it as the name of her company.
What I love about Gia’s work is that it is clean yet exciting and reasonably priced. She also designs custom wedding logos! When asked what inspired her, Gia said: “I’ve been a graphic designer for 10 years and I can safely say that since I made the switch from corporate design to wedding stationery, I’ve been more inspired than ever!
My biggest source of inspiration is photography. I love beautiful images – whether it’s fashion photography, wedding photography, product photography…you name it! Sometimes it’s the colors in an image that make me think of a new palette; sometimes it’s the way the photo is composed or the photo styling that inspires me; or even just the ‘feel’ or mood of the photo will spark an idea. I’ve actually just started a series called ‘Inspiring Images‘ on my blog where I will be chronicling some of the images that I am currently inspired by.
I am also madly in love with fonts. I shop for fonts entirely too often but I chalk it up to a business expense (rather than an obsessive guilty pleasure, which is probably more accurate). For me, a really great font can often inspire an entire design.
Here are a couple examples of how images have inspired invitations…”

I am so thankful that Gia sent us over those amazing inspiration boards and what they actually were translated to. What a privilege to see her design process unfold!
wow! love the middle picture of row 2 in the first set! LOVE!
DYING for that last one. I heart ornate beauty. Wowza.
Love the thought she puts into her designs and sharing her inspirations. It’s the thought behind it that makes the final creation that much more beautiful!
I so much need to get professionally in gear and launch a blog such as this one.
Just a cautionary note about Betsy White — while their things look lovely on their site, we had a terrible experience with them when we ordered Save the Dates. Paper quality was quite low and what looked beautiful online was actually quite economy looking when printed 🙁
Everyone loves it whenever people get together
and share thoughts. Great blog, stick with it!
