Decorating for the Holidays sometimes seems daunting.. but it’s also one of the most exhilarating parts! Changing up the decor and turning your home into a fragrant smelling, cozy, escape is one of our favorite times of the season. Every year, we pull out the boxed Thanksgiving & Christmas decor and add in some new favorite finds to make our homes festive. Gold and white pumpkins and pinecones make keep the fall vibes alive while all the mini pine trees and wreaths welcome winter warmly.
This year we have a fancy new Sony 4k TV to incorporate into the decor. Thankfully, this isn’t your mama’s television set. This slim-line, wall-mounted TV fit into our fireplace setup seamlessly. The sleek new smart TV and matching sound bar are both extremely thin, which made decorating the mantle ideal. We had plenty of room for all the holiday decor in front of it (without blocking our view in the slightest :)). That view being unbelievably clear – and the sound being extremely high quality. If you think TV screens were maxed out on clarity, think again, the 4K TV really does make a difference! Perfect to watch all your holiday specials on :). We especially appreciate the sleek all black color and lack of adornment on both the Sony 4k TV and the sound bar. We want technology to blend in and be part of our home, but not a focal point.
So, what are the major ways you can transform your mantle? Here are a few ideas:
1. Pillows! We think bringing in fluffy pillows in matching shades, or holiday patterns really cozies up the space. A marble mantle can feel cold and hard, but pillows and throws instantly make it warmer and ready to be sat beside with a warm cup of cocoa :). You can even make your own DIY Quote Pillow!
2. Speaking of winter sips, the holidays are a great time to invest in a bar cart, or if you already own one, make it front and center! We love our gold bar cart and take every chance we get to show it off! Right now we are stocking it with red wine and champagne from Terlato Wines for celebratory nights, copper moscow mule mugs and gold-rimmed glasses, and a super cute ice bucket. We keep pretty throws or blankets folded on there too in case anyone wants to cozy up! Add hot chocolate & apple cider to make it even more season ready!
3. Bring in greenery! Garlands, trees, pinecones, you name it, it should surround your fireplace and fill your home this season! Pull out all the green wreaths (and pretty cranberry ones too!) and light a pine-scented candle to create the ultimate holiday atmosphere at home.
4. Bring out the decor in waves. It’s still November, so it makes sense to capitalize on your pumpkin knick knacks while you have the chance. Keep those orange & white (or in our case, gold) gourds out all month long. Once Thanksgiving has passed, pull out the stockings! But, the season is only so long, so make sure you have decor that can easily transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas to Winter too. Greenery, wood accents, and reindeer are great for this. Let them sit on your mantle all season long!
5. Put on a holiday movie and enjoy! We can’t even count the amount of times we watch Love Actually when this time of year comes around, so we flipped it on – and watched in 4K, ultra HD glory. Can you think of a better November day?
