Two pieces, sheer overlays, embroidery, embellishment, brocade – all this and more hit the runway at Bridal Fashion Week in Barcelona this May. We saw everything from the classic lace, body hugging beauty and glitzy ball gown, to floral gowns and jumpsuits! Jaws were dropping at every one of these shows so narrowing it down to these favorite dresses was not easy. You won’t be able to pull your eyes away from the screen as you scan the detail on these pretties and imagine how they would look on your big day :). Whether we’re in New York, or Europe, we don’t get sick of watching wedding dresses walk the aisle, and we are constantly amazed by the creativity of the designers.
The backs of these gowns were just as breathtaking as the fronts – as was common all over the scene this week with buttons that went way down and even necklaces draped backwards. The cropped tops also left little to be desired on the runway with their full-of-personality styles and shimmering beauty.
Polka dots and sparkles… need we say more?
Houghton was the only U.S. based designer present on the runway – rocking it proudly in fringe and tousled waves. The gowns varied from shimmering and party fun to sleep and sophisticated.
Not only were blush and nude stealing the spotlight from the white dress, but florals and fur too.
Marco y Maria brought ultra feminine flair to their show with dresses that looked like they floated on clouds and the most intricate hems and embroidery you’ve ever seen. The soft and sheer fabric of their gowns made us melt, blowing everyone away with a style all their own.
If there was one show not to miss, it was Pronovias. The ever popular bridal designer was the closing act and quite literally the grand finale. With a fairytale inspired show, moving chandeliers, and trains that make The Duchess of Cambridge’s train look short, people couldn’t help but leave the designer with a standing ovation. It didn’t hurt that the final runway happened at an art museum overlooking all of Barcelona. Yes, it was a dream.
I’m obsessed with those Pronovia dresses!!
So good!
