Kelly Golightly is one of those people who you can’t help but just love. Her style is a little quirky but full of bright colors and vintage pieces. It’s just plain old happy! Inspired by Audrey Hepburn (and honestly they could be sisters!), Kelly takes a classic vintage look and makes it her own by adding funky jewelry or stand out shoes. She’s a full on expert when it comes to not only fashion but entertaining and even throws some good food tips in there too! Definitely go check out her site but first, take a peek into what inspires Kelly…
Name: Kelly Lee
Blog: Kelly Golightly
City: Beverly Hills & Palm Springs
How would you describe your style?
Happy, vintage-inspired & playful.
When and why did you start your blog?
I started Kelly Golightly in 2012 as a way to share fashion and lifestyle inspiration. I hope that by sharing inspired interiors, entertaining tips and outfit ideas, it brightens people’s days and inspires them to “style it up” – small details and tweaks make a big difference. My hope is that it gives people the inspiration to create memorable outfits, parties and spaces of their own.
Kelly Golightly has evolved into me having the opportunity to plan and host a lot of parties, which I love because it brings together my two loves – fashion and interior design. I love to create happy environments for people to make happy memories in.
Where do you find inspiration for your style as well as everyday life?
I’m greatly inspired by Audrey Hepburn and Slim Aarons. Pretty much my dream is to live in a Slim Aarons photo and anytime I’m planning a party, I flip through his books for endless inspiration. Audrey’s my greatest style icon both for everyday and special events. No matter if she had on a Givenchy gown or a plaid shirt and denim, there was something so effortlessly charming about her look. So I ask myself, What Would Audrey Do? On the other hand, I admire Kelly Wearstler because she’s bold and takes chances. She’s a great reminder not to play it safe.
What are your favorite fashion trends happening right now?
Pretty pastels. Easter egg colors are so feminine and perfect for spring. And I love shift blouses and the party skirt trend.
Fashion trend you wish would come back: Babydoll dresses and color! I wish everyone would be more playful when it came to color. The 60s were amazing. Let’s do that again.
Beauty secret: Basis face wash, Oil of Olay moisturizer, Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers and a big sunhat!
Celebrity style crush: Audrey Hepburn
Secret talent: I can guess the total of the check at restaurants or the grocery store without calculating it in my head. I really should put that random talent to good use!
I can’t live without: Fred Baby
