“Don’t look for the next opportunity. The one you have in your hand IS the opportunity.”
Most business owners are very ambitious and deliberate in their their pursuits, they have to be if the business is to succeed! However, the “go getter” in us, can get the best of us, meaning sometimes we’re so busy looking and hoping for opportunities that we don’t realize what we currently have right in front of us! You need to learn to make the most of what you have.
Instead of being jealous of someone else’s achievements – an amazing press feature, an ideal client, a travel opportunity – and trying to recreate them ourselves, let’s put our focus and energy into what we have. Even if it may not always feel like it, everyday we’re able to work and do what we love is a blessing and an opportunity that should be embraced. It’s so easy to not be satisfied with the current wedding or project, always looking to the future for the next big thing. If our gaze is always ahead, we miss the chance to make the present our greatest opportunity yet. Don’t bank on the future to change your business today. Keep your sights forward, but always do the very best you can with what you’ve got now.
