This September wedding embodied the warmth of late summer and early fall with plenty of natural elements like flowers and foliage, while also incorporating gold metallic tones and textures. The colors were sunset-inspired, with warm shades of dusty pink, peach, cream, marigold, and crimson. The bridesmaids were radiant in gowns by Jenny Yoo in English Rose, while the groomsmen donned crisp navy suits from Indochino that added a lovely contrast to the softer sunset tones. Guests were welcomed to the ceremony with a modern seating chart & champagne wall. Guests danced the night away, while a live watercolor artist captured the celebration with unique works of art.
The bride shares the details on this sunset-inspired wedding at The Lucy,
Until January 2020, I had spent exactly no time planning or fantasizing about a dream wedding. It just wasn’t me. So I really surprised myself with just how much fun (and how little stress) I had planning every detail of our wedding! I’m very creative and organized with great attention for detail. Wedding planning was a really fun opportunity for me to combine all of these skills in an awesome way. We definitely wanted to host a wedding to remember.
We planned on including many of the classic elements of a traditional wedding, while incorporating our own unique style. Most of all, we wanted it to be really fun! Our original wedding was planned for September 2020 and like so many others, we had to reschedule. Our 2021 wedding was going to be the first big event that many of our friends and family were attending in a very long time, so we really wanted it to be an incredible night out for everyone! So many of our guests were really excited to finally have a chance to dress up and party!
The first vendor we booked was Cescaphe. If you’ve never been to a Cescaphe wedding, know the events they host are unmatched. Before my wedding, I had attended several Cescaphe weddings, and each one was better than the last. The guest experience at a Cescaphe event is unreal; the venues are stunning, the service is excellent, and the food is incredible.
There is most definitely a “wow factor” when you attend a Cescaphe wedding, and that’s exactly what we wanted for our guests. We chose The Lucy because of its modern simplicity and elegance. I love the colors in The Lucy and the clean design. Planning a wedding with Cescaphe could not be any easier as a bride.
As the details continue,
For our flowers, we went with Beautiful Blooms. Beautiful Blooms often partner with Cescaphe, and they do gorgeous work. I worked closely with Alicia, and she understood my vision and was so detailed and specific with our color scheme. The flowers were perfect!
Music is a massive part of who we are, and we needed a DJ who was going to understand our vision and be enthusiastic about it. DJ Johnny Ballerini from Center Stage Entertainment came highly recommended to us. We wanted people dancing all night, and he delivered! Johnny was great to work with and understood our vision for the night. We incorporated Bridgerton-inspired instrumentals of modern songs into our ceremony and classic movie themes at dinner. But after dinner, it was dance hits for the rest of the night!
Once I saw the stunning photographs Magdalena Studios took, there was no question in my mind that Magi was the photographer for us. Magi and her team were such a joy to work with, and they captured all of the beauty, love, and fun of our wedding so perfectly!
Towards the end of the night,
Finally, we were so excited to work with the artists from Drawn Together NYC, who captured the most amazing watercolor portraits of our guests. While planning our wedding, I came up with the idea that having artists there to create images of our guests would be cool, creative, and unique. Every wedding has a photo booth, but I had never been to one with artists. The only problem was that I didn’t know if this was a thing. A quick Google search led me to Drawn Together NYC, and they were exactly what I was looking for. Our guests loved this addition to the evening and their keepsake paintings.
There were so many details at our wedding that made it feel very us. So many of our guests told me that “my touch” was all over the wedding. From our unexpected first dance to “There Will Be Time” by Mumford and Sons, to the live performance of “Fly Me to the Moon” especially for my mom and me, every detail was carefully planned with purpose. One of the most special and unique moments of our wedding was the artists.
My love and deep appreciation of art has inspired Brad to love it as well! Many of our favorite dates have been at art museums. To celebrate our love of art, we had two artists from Drawn Together NYC there to sketch beautiful ink and watercolor portraits of our guests as a keepsake. This was something totally original that none of our guests had experienced at a wedding before and they loved it! Everyone had so much fun with this special detail.
Our wedding was truly perfect. The weather was gorgeous. The ceremony was romantic and heartfelt. The reception was beautiful, fun, and unique. Our vendors were amazing. Our guests loved every aspect of the night. Most importantly, we had the very best time together, and with all the people we love!”
