DIY Hand-Sanitizer with your favorite Essential Oils
Melody from Obsessed with Essentials shares her favorite hand sanitizer recipe…
“This DIY hand sanitizer recipe is great because it takes seconds to throw together, the ingredients are super clean and it is very effective…plus you miss out on all the crazy lines at the stores! Can I get an amen! I love using Doterra’s immune support blend called On Guard since it has some of the top essential oils to help cleanse your hands, boost your immune system and it smells amazing! It has oils like Wild Orange, Cinnamon Leaf and Cinnamon Bark, Clove, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary!
Just grab a small 1 oz glass spray bottle from amazon or you can even re-use one of your old essential oil bottles and add a spray top to it.
Then add the following…
– 10-15 drops On Guard Essential Oil blend (you can also use oils like Lemon, Tea Tree, etc)
– 2 teaspoons aloe vera gel
– A couple of drops of vitamin e oil (optional)
– Then fill the rest with a mix of 120+ proof Vodka and/or distilled water
– Shake until combined nicely
Voila! You have an easy and effective hand sanitizer that isn’t full of crazy ingredients!”
Here is a little hack if you want to keep your On Guard Hand Sanitizer on yourself or your kiddos at all times! Grab the carabiner silicone top that came on Doterra’s kid’s line of roller bottles and add it to your hand sanitizer lid instead and now you can take your On Guard Hand Sanitizer wherever you go!
DIY All-Purpose Cleaning Spray
Recipe and content pulled from Poosh
The Recipe:
3/4 cup white vinegar
3 1/2 cups water
45 drops lavender and rose essential oils, or any you choose
Why It Works:
“With the all-purpose solution, you can spray down your kitchen, counters, and even chopping blocks. Beyond all the health benefits for your body and family, it’s cheap to make. The investment in oil will be your biggest purchase, but it lasts a long time. Tip: I use a large mason jar—to avoid plastic containers—and make a big batch, so I can refill it whenever I’m out.”
DIY Hand Soap that is Safe and Actually Works
Carlie from Miya Dwelling shares her favorite DIY hand soap recipe,
“In a time when we all seem to be washing our hands every five minutes, why not use a hand soap that is extremely effective, smells like Christmas morning, and is all-natural! This DIY hand soap recipe is quick, simple and will leave your hands feeling the utmost clean.
Making your own hand soap is truly so simple. It’s also so much fun because you are able to customize the scent to your own liking, using the essential oils of your choice. What you will need for this DIY hand soap recipe is:
– Glass Hand Soap Bottle (I love using these)
– Distilled Water
– Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Liquid Soap (Baby Unscented)
– Sweet Almond Oil
– 20 drops of the essential oil of your choice
To start, grab your glass hand soap bottle and screw off the lid. Then, fill the glass bottle ⅓ of the way up with the distilled water.
Next, drop your essential oils in (20 drops). For such a time as this, I love using 5 drops of Young Living’s Lemon oil and 15 drops of their immune support oil blend called Thieves. Lemon oil is extremely cleansing and smells oh so fresh. Thieves is the immune support oil of allllll immune support oils. This blend contains the oils of clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus, and rosemary. These oils contain cleansing properties and truly when all mixed together smell like Christmas morning. Using these two oils will aid in fighting off germs and will make your hands smell so lovely. Swish your oils around in the water and make sure you like the scent. Add more oils if necessary.

Then, add about 2-3 tablespoons of the Dr. Bronner’s Pure Castile Liquid Soap (Baby Unscented). Finally, top off the bottle with about 1 tablespoon of sweet almond oil. The sweet almond oil helps to prevent dryness that often comes from washing our hands so often.
& There you go – it is truly that simple! Making your own hand soap is so much fun. In times like this where I seem to be washing my hands all the time, I have been carrying a small bottle of this hand soap in my purse as well. That way, wherever I am – I know that I am doing my best to fight off germs and keep my hands incredibly clean!”
