Where To Stay
With plane tickets in hand, it’s time to book your hotel! On our last visit to Nashville, we stayed at Urban Cowboy in East Nashville. We can’t recommend it enough! First, they offer a complimentary welcome drink upon check-in. They recommended the famous local Tennessee whiskey, but we all went with a classic red wine (Sorry, whiskey lovers!). Each of the rooms at Urban Cowboy is decorated in a unique style. We stayed in the Ramblin’ Rose and Victorian suites. Both were SO cute! They also offer homemade breakfast in the lounge every morning, complete with delicious coffee and pastries. The service was beyond, and we can’t wait to get back to Nashville and stay here again!
Where To Eat
One of our editors lived in Nashville for a brief stint, and she says she misses the food most of all! A few of her recommendations below.
Bartaco – If you’re from the south, chances are you’ve heard of Bartaco! Their famous margaritas and extensive taco menu is 100% worth a visit. When we hit up this spot earlier this year, we accidentally spent all afternoon sipping margaritas on their patio.
Hattie B’s – You can’t leave Nashville without trying their famous hot chicken! There are a few locations around town, so find the one closest to where you’ll be at! Insider tip: Call in an order ahead of time and take it to-go to skip the line.
Whiskey Kitchen – There’s a whole group of restaurants in Nashville that includes Whiskey Kitchen, and it’s the perfect Southern dinner hotspot. If there’s a wait, head across the street and grab a drink at Saint Anejo across the street while you wait for a table to open up.
Barista Parlor – Head here for coffee and breakfast one morning while you’re in Nashville! Delicious coffee + homemade biscuits are waiting for you.
Tavern – If you’re going to be in Nashville over a weekend, visit Tavern for brunch! They have 2 for 1 cocktails and a seriously delicious breakfast spread. Insider tip: Get there before 10am, because there’s always a line before they open!
Biscuit Love – Another favorite brunch spot, this one in the Gulch district. One word: Bonuts. Biscuit donuts. Trust us and TRY THEM!
Peg Leg Porker – If barbecue is your thing, head to Peg Leg Porker in Germantown! It’s authentic and oh so delicious.
What To Do
There are SO many things to do in Nashville that it’s up to you to decide what to fit into your trip! A few ideas to get your wheels turning –
12 South – This neighborhood in Nashville is full of cute shops, fun restaurants, and spots to spend an afternoon. They have a farmers market, an adorable donut shop, and coffee spots for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Broadway – Do we have to explain this one? Even if crazy nightlife isn’t your thing, Broadway is worth a quick jaunt just to see what all the fuss is about.
The Grand Ole Opry – Visit the largest broadcasting studio in the world and catch one of their weekly country music stage concerts while you’re in town!
The Parthenon – A full size replica of a Greek landmark, this seemingly out of place Nashville spot is a must-see.
Country Music Hall of Fame – If you’re a big country music fame, spend an afternoon here and learn all the things!
