We love seeing anything farm-to-table or homemade, so when we came across this “locally grown” baby shower, it was love at first sight! This adorable baby shower was inspired by the autumn season in Napa Valley, and was filled with locally grown farm-fresh accents everywhere. Guests received sweet favors like local honey and orange and rosemary-infused California olive oil, which went perfect with this homegrown theme. Vintage touches and fall-fresh florals made the entire day feel cozy, but we think our favorite part was seeing the farm-inspired sugar cookies! From start to finish, you’re going to obsess over this baby shower.

Last fall, I had the opportunity to help shower my sister-in-law as she prepared for the arrival of my darling nephew. Fall in the Napa Valley is rich with color and texture. We wanted to reflect the local surroundings and honor the time of year while adding a vintage feel with old canning labels and fruit crates. Because I live on the opposite side of the country and was pregnant myself, I relied heavily on family support and local vendors to help pull all the details together for the special day. I had many items shipped directly to my mother and father’s house in Napa where the party was held. The dining table linens were rented from La Tavola Linens and the tables, chairs and blue goblets were rented from Encore Event Rentals. I created the smaller table arrangements with flowers from the local grocery store and a sweet family friend created the main arrangement for each table.
I love the idea of party favors that are both practical and welcoming, so we filled wood berry baskets with a local honey stick and an orange and rosemary-infused California olive oil to celebrate both the sweetness of little ones and the harvest season. We tucked the dinner napkins into these baskets and placed one on each setting. The scallop plastic plates were purchased from Amazon, wood cutlery was used for ease of use and I brought the rattan chargers with me on the airplane after finding them on clearance!
I think every special celebration deserves a dessert table. It goes a long way to providing a focal point for the event and a place for guests to linger around. I hung two vintage-inspired fruit and vegetable hangings above the dessert table and purchased a striped fabric to drape over the table. I decorated a plain frosted cake from Whole Foods and had a vendor from Etsy make the sugar cookies. The mother of the mom-to-be brought the rest of the delicious desserts. Adding sweet little baby shoes and some vintage blocks completed the table. And of course, all of the lovely details were captured beautifully by my friend Sarah. Life is too short and often too hard to not wildly celebrate the lovely. And welcoming new lives is a lovely thing indeed!
