Thanks to the birthday boy’s name in a block-lettered wood sign hanging over the dessert display, you will fall for this modern first birthday party at first entrance!! Seriously, is this sign not the coolest?! To let it do the talking, Sally from Pretty Little Events kept the rest of the decor understated, but just as cool. The acrylic, marble, and slate textures accentuated the modern feel and the lush venue took care of all the greenery we could hope for (anyone else obsessed with plants?!). To end the celebration on a rad sweet note, Sally recruited Sweet & Saucy Shop for an array of marbled desserts—yum!
Sally shares…
When you have a venue as beautiful as The Farmhouse Los Angeles, the decor elements for the party need only to accentuate the existing surroundings. I wanted to incorporate the farm house charm and clean elements of the space so drew inspiration straight from the textures and organic materials found within the space. Marble, wood, slate, leather and the lush natural foliage effortlessly brought the details together.
Sweet and Saucy Shop created the perfect marbled fondant cake. We decided to make the cake square to add another modern dimension to tie in the rest of the marbled desserts, which included marbled macarons and marbled chocolate globes by Front Porch Pops. I wanted to display the desserts like a cheese display… on slate cheese boards, marbled and wooden serving boards, and utilized cheese markers to label and display them. I decided to use clear acrylic for all the signage so the foliage can peek through to keep the space and details feeling airy, fresh, and modern. Guests sat down to a seed-to-plate brunch, the cuisine representing responsibly farmed meat and sustainable seafood with seasonal farm fresh ingredients.
