You are in for a real treat on our wedding blog today! This light pink wedding on the coast in Carmel, California (just wait until you see the views!) is contemporary, cool, and all around inspiring. The designers at Lovely Time Weddings & Events carried a theme of “string art” throughout the day from an incredible escort card display backdrop to the table numbers. Another consistent element? Awesome asymmetrical floral designs! Starting with the ceremony arch and ending with petals falling over the side of the cake. Other unique details include terrariums in place of bouquets for the bridesmaids, pale pink apples as place cards, and spray-painted crates sprinkled throughout. Yep, you have got to see it to believe it…
Lovely Time Weddings & Events shares…
The bride’s initial opinion was that she wanted pink and black wedding colors. She wanted the design to be less classical and more unique, yet elegant. Our design team was able to have a lot of creative freedom in this aspect. Considering the bride’s own avant-garde personality, we decided to use straight lines and acrylic to create a contemporary wedding theme while using the pink in the floral arrangements to soften the look. Due to the elements of straight lines, we used grids and string art for her theme.
Using the concept of string art, we wanted to add a very personal element to the wedding by creating a backdrop with the couple’s portrait. It was especially important for us to add on the bride’s tattoo that had her family name.
We wanted to create a very different arch option for this untraditional theme as well. So, we gathered crates to be spray painted shades of pink to match the wedding color theme. These crates were then stacked into different heights and adorned with a gradient of floral. We continued to use the concept of acrylics and lines in the reception space. Using glass chargers to reflect the transparency and continuing to use string art for their table numbers to hail to the portrait backdrop. The whole wedding is tied together with the theme and colors; pink modern elegance.
