Think barefoot and Black Tie don’t go hand in hand? Think again! Destination I Do came up with this unique juxtaposed theme idea, and we love the way it came to life. The incredible vendor team for this beach shoot, led by Jessica Kuipers of Onyx & Redwood, took the idea and ran with it, creating a moody and elegant shoot, which we think is perfect for the couple looking for an easy, yet elevated experience. The black tie beach wedding was completely shot on the sand in Santa Barbara, CA with the sounding waves and glow of the setting sun in the background. With florals by Precious & Blooming, Rentals from Archive Rentals, Stationery from XOWYO Paper + Press, and the most amazing black cake from Cakes by Colin, you won’t be able to stop pinning this gorgeous inspo. Romantic, isn’t it?
The team shares…
For this black tie beach wedding, the florist, Precious & Blooming mixed black and white blooms with greenery to create an incredible half-arch ceremony setup. We embraced the asymmetrical feel with benches lining one side. For the bouquets, she pulled dark non-traditional blooms to bring in the black colorway, and mixed in classic white roses to balance it out. The cake was inspired by the ocean, and had life-like barnacles crawling up the sides. And then there was the tablescape – moody wedding perfection. Finally, vintage-inspired details and intricate stationery was the perfect finishing touch to a gorgeous shoot!
We love the mix of raw and earthy, and plush and elegant elements in this black tie beach wedding. The florals and tufted benches for the ceremony are the perfect example. That, and a wow-worthy driftwood arch! What’s not to love?
Doesn’t this make you want to run along the beach in a wedding dress?!
