You’re going to love this! Curated by Grace + White describes moody wedding photography as poetic and romantic, which, thus inspired this beautiful, slightly edgy shoot on IBT today. From its intimate ceremony in the brick walled venue, to the candlelit picnic that tops it all off, the team achieved the poetic romance they were going for with this moody wedding inspiration. They chose colors that go with burgundy – a signature shade of the season – like blush and mauve, which complemented the dark atmosphere so well. Not only is the color palette one of our favorites, but also the all around vibe – laid back, modern, and full of love. Oh, and the chic cocktail bar – that may be our favorite part!
When we started designing this shoot, we were inspired by the dark, moody, and romantic colors we see as fall fades to winter. Velvet ribbons and napkins brought in texture, while edgier elements like neon signs and metal accents gave contrast. We are calling the shoot “Electric Love,” a nod to the neon signage and the attraction and chemistry between our models (everyone could feel their sparks and electricity). For one wardrobe change we had the bride wear a simple blush pink bodycon dress with black combat boots – a little ode to 90’s grunge & Kate Moss.
The florals were a mix of deep rich colors, and soft pinks, with long, abstract branches to accent. We wanted the shoot to transition through the day, ending with the bride and groom having their quiet time together once the party ended – curled up, barefoot, on the cowhide rug, sipping champagne and munching on leftover food. There is something about the deep colors and moody wedding photography style that is poetic… it is romantic and a little bit mysterious all at the same time.
