Ah fall. Pause with us for a minute as we breath in the crisp air, smell the pumpkin wafting through it, and prepare to tour this ultra cozy, rustic fall home. Sigh…
Ashley, who chronicles her ever-changing interiors on Modern Glam, is walking us through her home, which is currently decked out for the season. From pumpkins on the porch, to plush sheepskin throws on each dining room chair and fresh baked cobbler in the kitchen, it lives and breaths Autumn. We’re taking cues from her pops of plaid and orange, as well as her best tips for incorporating more texture and festive elements, to help get our own homes in the mood!
We love following along with you on Modern Glam Home! Have you always loved interior design? What inspired you to launch the site?
I have always loved being creative, and as I have gotten older I get so inspired by creating different looks for inside my home. I wanted a creative outlet that inspires others that want to make their house a home too!
How would you describe your design aesthetic? Does it change with the season?
I describe my style as eclectic. I love little bits from every design style; Modern, traditional, farmhouse, boho. I like them all! By using elements from each, we have a home that is filled with character. My style definitely takes on a more rustic, farmhouse feel in the fall and winter months as I start to layer in cozier textures and natural elements.
What are some of your best tips for decorating for Fall? Are there any simple changes that make a big impact? How do we instantly up the ‘cozy’ factor?
For fall you really want to up the cozy vibe. The easiest way to do this is through layers and textures. Right now my home is filled with fluffy textures. A sheepskin rug on the couch, as well as lambs wool pillows and faux fur throws surround our living area and make it perfect for curling up with a glass of wine.
Do you have a favorite space in your home currently?
My favorite spot is our living room because there are so many places to relax and unwind. And I love having a plethora of pillows for making the couch extra cozy and warm.
What are your “must haves” for your home this fall?
Sheepskin rugs, wood textures and neutral shades.
You also own a clothing boutique! What are your “must haves” in your fall wardrobe?
Definitely cozy, cashmere dusters. These are my favorite when layered over a graphic tee and a pair of jeans. They are a all wardrobe staple!
We love all your festive pieces! Where are your favorite spots to shop for seasonal decor?
I love Etsy for seasonal décor. I love supporting small artisans and independent businesses. And it prevents your décor from looking like it came from one big box store.
