Looking for an equally fun, cute, and creative theme for your son or daughter’s first birthday party? Queue the cactus cookies and party animals, because this llama first birthday party is just the thing! With Korean birthday traditions, like the picking of the object and signature rice cakes, incorporated with adorable decor, Pretty Little Events pulled off the perfect party. You could say it was a whole “llama fun”;).
Sally at Pretty Little Events shares… For this little llama inspired first birthday party, we wanted to keep the design fun but also reflect the feel of the historic missions surrounding the venue. The party was held at Plaza de Magdelena in downtown San Juan Capistrano. With their open air courtyard, Spanish inspired landscaping, and neutral stone walls throughout, we wanted to bring in the outdoor elements with cactus, succulents, and greenery.
Our Studio created a balloon installation for the backdrop display, adding in pops of pink with paper honeycombs and hand painted laser cut letters for Matilda’s name. Sweet and Saucy Shop created a cactus cake, drawing inspiration from the invitations by Tiny Mint, and mini cactus donuts and macarons.
Kacy Hyder provided custom llama and cactus sugar cookies which were packaged in clear acrylic boxes provided by Pretty Little Events for guests to take home. Sweet Florie Cake hand piped cactus onto cupcakes made entirely of rice and bean paste which is a traditional dessert to include in a Korean first birthday. We used macrame, wooden display stands, and muslin bags to keep the displays organic in feel. Finally, Tressa Scharf captured the darling photos.
All of the Llama decor please??
