An Al Fresco Blush and Copper Wedding in Mexico

Ah Cabo. It is one of our most favorite locales for a destination wedding, and after scrolling through this beautiful big day it’s easy to see why. The al fresco blush and copper wedding in Mexico is laid back, yet elegant, and full of bright blooms and metallic details. It was exactly what the bride and groom envisioned for their far away fete and then some thanks to a surprise fireworks show during their first dance!!

Andrew and I have always loved traveling together. It only seemed fitting for us to have a destination wedding! Having our family and friends gathered together in a beautiful, al fresco ceremony and reception under the stars made our wedding special and unique. Basically, our wedding was like being on vacation with all of our closest friends and family. From the flowers to the music selection, everything was tailored specifically to our taste. Our wedding coordinator, Lynette Dow of Amy Abbott Events, was instrumental in bringing the design and our vision to life. We went for a laid back glamorous feel using shades of blush with gold and copper as accent colors. We went without a tent and instead opted for overhead string lights which allowed for everyone to see spectacular fireworks after our first dance! We mixed traditional elements such as engraved calligraphy wedding invitations, but still kept things fun and laid back with a mariachi band and margaritas at the cocktail hour of our reception.

The wedding could not have been more ‘us’. From the flowers to the music selection, everything was tailored specifically to our taste. We included family traditions and close friends in different elements of our wedding. I wore a six pence in my shoe that has been passed down through three generations of women in my family. We had a close friend officiate our wedding who delivered a meaningful and personal ceremony. Also, I loved our wedding favors! Andrew and I are huge fans of the Holiday season and collect Christmas ornaments from places we have traveled to. We incorporated our tradition by having Christmas ornaments as our wedding favor. The ornaments were hand blown glass hearts which are a signature of the Baja region in Mexico.
