The style flowed like the champagne at this modern elegant wedding in Raleigh, North Carolina on our wedding blog today. And when one of the brides is a designer at Anthropologie, it’s easy to see why! Dressed in the chicest BHLDN gowns, they said ‘I Do’ in the lush green arbor of Merrimon-Wynne House, before changing into a few just-as-chic jumpsuits to dance the night away!
Radian photography says, Weddings that end in sparkler exits always have our hearts, but this wedding’s modern and elegant design completely won us over. Suz, one of the brides, is a designer at Anthropologie and worked with her team of vendors to create a stylish design inspired by simple but striking Japanese Ikebana floral arrangements. The fall wedding was awash with touches of understated style, from the bride’s BHLDN dresses (and, later, their post-ceremony jumpsuits) to their champagne tower toast entry into the reception.
The Merrimon-Wynne house, nestled in downtown Raleigh, was the perfect setting for their wedding, as the brides reside in Raleigh and wanted a venue that felt like home. The ceremony was held on the lawn on a warm November day. The brides’ attendants wore navy and grey – including their dog, Tucker! Afterwards, guests mingled outside while the brides enjoyed Moscow mules together, taking a moment for themselves. Dinner tables were set with simple but beautiful candles and floral arrangements, including a hanging greenery floral sculpture over the bar. The night ended with dinner and an epic dance party in the carriage house, with a break their “wedding cake” of choice: donuts! The brides celebrated with their friends before being sent off into the night with sparklers at the front of the house, ending a wedding day filled with sophisticated and sincere style.
