Alooooha! This baby boy’s blue and green tropical first birthday party is one for the books! Balloons, check. Desserts, check. Donkey …donkey? Check! Gail at AZ Party of 2 thought of everything! And since she’s not only the event designer, but also baby boy’s mama, we aren’t surprised! Gail pulled out all the stops – and palms – for her boy Teddy’s special day. From a DIY drink station (it reminds us of this one!) to cute ‘Thank you’ bags & cookies. You only turn one once, after all!
Gail says, When you are an event planner and designer and your child turns one, a beautiful party is a must! My son, Teddy, turned one and we wanted everyone to have a great time at his party. He is the first grandchild on both sides, so his party was super special to everyone involved! We rented out Ruze Cake House because it’s an adorable shop where they make amazing, custom desserts!
His party was tropical themed, so I incorporated that in every detail – even the donkey wore tropical attire! We had a tropical cake and macarons, custom cacti cookies, tropical florals, custom signage, leis, and colorful linens. Plus, lots and lots and lots of balloons accented with tropical greenery! I made DIY hoops for pictures to remember the first year of his life using hula hoops, spray paint, and ribbon. It worked great! I also made a DIY beverage station from storage crates and a wood piece for the top.
Isn’t a tropical theme so fun?! This surf first birthday party is a great theme for a baby boy too!
Oh my goodness that cake!!
