Bunny ears, brunch bites, and our favorite furry friends? What more could you want? This pretty Easter brunch was not just for a group of girls to get together to celebrate, but also for their pups! And who wouldn’t want to brunch with puppies? Beyond the special guests, though, the decor, menu, and atmosphere make this brunch quite the memorable soiree.
For all those folks who love spring and their furry ones, this is the most adorable Easter Brunch Soiree you will see. Our goal was to keep things casual and friendly with a low table where the dogs could join us. We threw a rug on the floor and some pillows and poufs for guests to sit on. We made a low table by using a 4×8 piece of stained plywood and putting the on some cinder blocks. We threw a navy blue runner on the table to help create some depth.
Once we have our location set, one of our first things we do when we plan a party is think of the colors we would like to use. Since we are celebrating spring we wanted to incorporate lots of pink and white colors with navy blue and gold accents. The navy blue was chosen to help with contrast so the pinks and whites would really pop against the darker blue.
Now that we have a color story, we chose seasonal spring blooms to help the colors come to life. Ranunculus, spray roses, anemones, garden roses are all wonderful spring blooms to use along with a variety of foliage including seeded eucalyptus, Italian ruscus and jasmine. For long tables we like to have one focal centerpiece in the center and two smaller accent arrangements on each side. Be sure to keep the centerpieces low so people can see each other across the way. We used white table settings, gold flatware and a navy blue napkin to help tied the colors together. Gold taper candle holders were used to complement the flatware and to give the table top some richness.
Since brunch is a combination of both breakfast and lunch we made a variety of food for guests. For breakfast, we made blueberry scones and waffles. We chose the scones since they were easy to make ahead and the waffles were kept warm in the toaster oven until they were ready to be set out. We kept the lunch options simple with open faced sandwiches that were easy to make the night before. Our favorites include the cucumber sandwich with cream cheese spread along with the ham and egg sandwiches topped with organic micro-greens and tomatoes.
We all brought our furry friend so the dogs needed to get some love too! A bark cart was created with all of their favorite treats. The treats were placed in small cups so the owners could take them home as favors. We included fun shapes including bones, cars, shoes and fire hydrants.
Although this is an Easter inspired brunch you can easily translate this to a spring gathering with friends. It’s always fun to have a party where you can bring your pet!
