This burgundy farmhouse wedding is classic with understated decor and glam details. The red, burgundy, and gold accents combined with elegant greenery also instantly give it a perfect winter feel. Anyone getting married in December?! This bride was all about the flowers, and it shows! We love the beautiful arrangements, bouquets, and softly draped greens that dress up the all white venue just enough. Just wait until you see the ceremony chapel!
When it came to our wedding, I had a very simple and classic style in mind. I wanted neutral colors with a lot of greenery and metals like gold or silver. As I went through the planning process I decided to add a pop of color and chose to add burgundy to our neutral color palette.
I had no idea what I wanted my dress to look like. I liked slim and simple, I liked big, poofy ball gowns, I liked all the lace, glitter and sparkles. I didn’t know where to start. Once I was trying dresses on I realized I liked simple, classic, dresses and ended up choosing a plain fitted dress with a beautiful open back detail and beautiful belt to add a little glam. Once I chose the dress, I knew I wanted the groom to be in a classic black and white tux. Well, my fiancé didn’t want to wear that, so we had to compromise and went with a charcoal gray tux, matching vest and a champagne tie for him and his groomsmen wore matching tuxes with burgundy ties. I also originally wanted my bridesmaids in a floor length black sequin gowns but once we got to the store and tried them on, I liked the look of the champagne color much better.
The Farmhouse is an incredible venue for styling. The all white venue and chapel are so simple and beautiful! I didn’t want to take away from the classic beauty of the venue so I wanted to keep things pretty simple. The ceremony was held in the chapel, where we had simple greenery placed above the 8′ windows that line the sides of the chapel and kept the arbor simple with plenty of matching greenery and two floral arrangements. As for the reception, we kept with the simple and neutral theme. The table linens were a neutral gray with white linen napkins, the focus being on our floral centerpieces. We had four different arrangements for our 24 tables, incorporating lanterns, candles, pedestal bowls and taller vases.
We wanted to write our own vows to each other but neither of us were comfortable reading them in front of the whole congregation of guests, so we chose to privately read our vows to each other after the ceremony before we went to the reception, and of course have our photographer capture that moment. I loved that because it was obviously special for us to express ourselves to each other privately but also just being able to have ten minutes, just the two of us, on the wedding day was amazing. There’s so much going on around you all day, I loved those few minutes just spent talking to each other and having some time alone before going into the reception with everyone.
These colors make the perfect transition from Fall to Winter! Love.
